Kaufland Expands its Online Presence by Opening a Sales Platform in Poland and Austria

Kaufland enters Poland and Austria. On April 8, 2024, Kaufland officially confirmed its entry into new markets: Poland and Austria, later this summer.

In the face of growing e-commerce popularity, Kaufland continues its expansion by launching new versions of its international trading platform. After the successful debut of Kaufland.cz in the Czech Republic and Kaufland.sk in Slovakia in 2023, the German retail giant plans to open two more online markets – this time in Poland and Austria.

These two new markets will be launched for customers in the summer of 2024. By expanding the platform to these two countries, sellers will be able to offer their products simultaneously in five markets, giving them potential access to over 81 million online customers.

New Market Implementation Process

Kaufland is already enabling merchants to prepare for the upcoming changes by adding Kaufland.pl and Kaufland.at to their current options in the seller portal. This process, known as onboarding, has been simplified to the maximum and consists of several steps:

  1. Selecting a new market in the Seller Portal.
  2. Completing the onboarding process for the chosen distribution channel.
  3. Activating offers through publication, which is the final step allowing sellers to showcase their products in new markets. Publication of offers will only be possible in the summer of 2024.

Benefits for Merchants and Customers

With the launch of Kaufland.pl and Kaufland.at, sellers gain access to new sales markets in Poland and Austria, allowing for diversification of revenue sources and increasing the potential customer base to over 81 million people in total with the current Kaufland platforms – Kaufland Global Marketplace.

This expansion not only enables increased product visibility through sales in five markets simultaneously within the Kaufland Global Marketplace but also offers solid business protection against risks associated with account or payment blocks on other sales platforms.

Customers, on the other hand, are pleased with the prospect of a wider product selection, which in turn can contribute to more competitive prices and better service quality.
